A Warrior with Words, and a Dog Lover
Introducing Andrew Orchard, a dedicated Royal Marine commando and a loving dog owner.
Andrew's remarkable journey encompasses multiple operational tours across various countries, providing him with a wealth of experiences in the dynamic realm of military life. These very experiences serve as the emotional canvas on which he paints the narrative of his book.
In addition to his military commitments, Andrew shares his life with a wonderful Beagle named Barney, a cherished companion who also plays a pivotal role within the pages of his book.
The genesis of Andrew's literary venture came to him during his daily walks with Barney. Over the course of a month, each step he took laid the foundation for his story—developing characters, intricate storylines, and the captivating twists and turns that would eventually grace the pages of his book.
Recognising the value of his narrative, Andrew decided to embark on a writing journey, a path he had never envisioned before. His determination to share his story was unwavering, and he was committed to doing justice to the tale he had crafted.
Writing the book was not without its challenges. Andrew's progress was deliberate, marked by pauses and reflections between writing sessions. He refused to rush the process, preferring to take the time needed to convey the story in the most authentic and meaningful way possible.
"Run Free," Andrew's book, weaves a poignant narrative about a military man who experiences the heartache of losing his beloved while on his final tour of duty. Upon his return, his wife leaves him a gift in the form of a dog, setting the stage for an unbreakable bond to develop between them. The story unfolds with the protagonist risking everything to ensure his dog's safety.
The central character, Richard, embodies the archetype of a resilient military man with a tough exterior but a profoundly tender heart. Andrew's writing invites readers to forge a heartfelt connection not only with Richard but also with the dog and the story itself.
In "Run Free," Andrew seeks to shed light on the enduring struggles faced by military personnel, emphasising that their challenges often extend beyond their return from deployment.
The process of crafting this literary gem spanned five years, commencing during military exercises and weaving through evenings and weekends between Andrew's work commitments. The greatest challenge, as Andrew candidly shares, was maintaining focus on the core storyline without succumbing to the temptation of tangential narratives.
In his quest to find the right publisher, Andrew meticulously explored his options, ultimately selecting Publishing Push for our exceptional package.
