How Do Book Royalties Work
You’ve probably heard the term “book royalty” get tossed around in publishing.
But what does it actually mean?
To put it simply: a book royalty is the amount that a publisher pays an Author for the rights to publish their book.
While simple in concept, this can raise many other questions for first-time authors.
What is the difference between NET and Gross?
Will I earn more royalties from traditional publishing or self-publishing?
What’s the typical profit margin on a book?
and many more questions.
Still, royalties don’t have to be a mystery. In fact, they’re pretty easy to figure out.
In this video, I’ll explain what royalties are, how much Authors can earn, and the various types of royalty rates.
📗 Just a quick reminder: if you haven’t done so already, you can submit your manuscript here.
